Welcome to NMFC
Newmarket Model Flying Club (NMFC) is affliated to British Model Flying Association (BMFA). Operating from Snailwell (Newmarket Heath), for fixed wing models, I/C electric or gliders only.
Our members also enjoy the facilities of a second site at Rowley Mile Newmarket, where only electric or gliders are permitted. The Rowley Mile site is not operational on Newmarket race days (see Flying info "When can you fly" Please Note the Race Days when you must not fly).
Beginners
If you are new to the hobby and wish to learn to fly then you have come to the right place. We have a number of instructors who can guide you through the process. Please feel free to visit us by prior arrangement to have a chatwith the members. Please do let the Secretary know through our contact form when you wish to visit.
Guests, Visitors & Children
Guests/Visitors must comply with the MNFC site safety rules. All children must be supervised at all times and allowed in Pits areas only when member escorted. Unless specifically under instruction they are not allowed on Flight Line/Runways
Mobile Phones
Active mobile phones to be at least 10 meters from active transmitters. Preferably left in car.
Restrainers
Power models capable of taking off must be secured by restrainers or by experienced helper whilst motors are started or run.
Pits area
Specifically reserved for preparing models for flight. Seating to be located outside this area unless consent agreed by committee in writing.
Peg Board/Windsock/Pits Area
Peg Board/Windsock/Pits Area must be located by side of Flight Line near the downwind of the runway Initial location to be chosen by the first member to arrive at site.
